September is a quiet month with no major festivals until the end of the month when Dussehera - Sri Ramachandra Vijayotsava will be celebrated. It is a good month to reflect. However, Deepawali is only six weeks away. Besides dances and music, we are planning to do a play. Anyone interested in taking part and or helping out in the play, please call 344-4274.

We had such a nice Janmashtami and Radhashtami. It is also a time to remember our forefathers The "Shraddha" or "Pitra Paksha" starts Friday Sept. 4th and ends Friday Sept. 18th. The feast for Sunday, Sept 6th is open. If anyone would like to do one in remembrance of their forefathers please call 344- 4274.
New Bhagavad-gita Study Course
Have you ever felt out of control or clueless? Despite your best efforts, it feels like some one else is pushing you around, but you don't know who? Don't be part of the clueless crowd! Like we find our stars with a horoscope, and we find our dosha in Ayurveda, similarly we can find our "mode" through the Bhagavad-gita, and then go beyond  the modes. Life will become very meaningful and peaceful.

So find your modes of action (guna) with our fall Bhagavad-gita course, called "Me and the Modes." We will cover chapters 14 and 17 over twelve weeks. We are charging a nominal fee of $20 for the course plus the cost of Bhagavad Gita As It Is by Srila Prabhupada.

The course starts from this Friday Sept 4 and ends on Friday Nov 27-the day Gita was spoken over 5000 years ago! The classes start at 7:00 PM at the temple. Prasadam follows every class. You can join until Friday Sept 11.
Volunteer at the Temple

If you would like to do seva (devotional service) on a regular (or irregular basis), we are starting designated "seva hours" on the weekends. You can come on Saturday or Sunday during the following hours and join other volunteers to do satisfying seva for Sri Sri Radha Bankebihari. Make a garland or do some gardening or clean the temple floor or the courtyard. Press Srila Prabhupada's clothes or do some sewing. Donate your skills and interests to Sri Sri Radha Bankebihari and see miracles happen in your life.
