Lord Nrsimhadeva, is the half-man half-lion incarnation of Lord Śrī Krsna. He appeared in a wonderful form which is a source of great fear for the demoniac and a source of transcendental bliss for His devotees. The Lord specifically appeared in this form to protect His beloved devotee Prahlāda Mahārāja, who was at that time only a five year old boy. The past time of Lord Nrsimhadeva illuminates the loving relationship that exists between the Lord and His pure devotees. A pure devotee like Prahlāda is ready to undergo any kind of hardships for the Lord's service. And the Lord is willing to appear anywhere and in any form to protect His beloved devotees.
On Lord Nrsimhadeva's appearance day, His devotees fondly remember His pastimes and pray for the removal of their obstacles on their path to pure devotional service.
