The legal challenge to the "Bhagavad Gita - As It Is" filed in a court case in eastern Russia has ended in defeat!
This is a great victory for ISKCON by Krishna's grace and the help of devotees and friends from around the world. A Russian court has dismissed a call to ban the holy book Bhagavad Gita As It Is, in a case that triggered protests in India and around the world. Prosecutors in the Siberian city of Tomsk wanted the Gita to be ruled "extremist". We would like to thank all of you here in Boise for your support through prayers, signing the petition and spreading awareness on the issue. World wide, there was a team of several devotees who worked hard on this issue. We are happy to share that ISKCON leadership has recognized Boise's hard work in writing letters of support and getting the reviews and endorsement letters, from the intellectual community around the world, in support of the Bhagavad Gita.

Also regarding this victory, here is a snippet of an insightful article that ran in the Times of India by our very own beloved Temple founder, Anantarupa Dasa:

Let's examine whether the Gita, that timeless transcendental work, has any content that is likely to instill any kind of hat-red and violence. In other words, is Krishna teaching terrorism or extremism to Arjuna?Read More...
